Foundation

Your product and business data, structured.

What it is

Part numbers, product structures, options, customers, orders. What things are, not yet how they relate.

What we do

We make it structured, consistent and owned, so the same product means the same thing in CPQ, PLM and ERP. You can't sensibly configure what hasn't been structured yet.

Logic

The rules and relationships that connect it.

What it is

Which option requires which part, which parts form a module, which change touches which quote in flight, and which combinations are never allowed. That last one is the part nobody writes down, and it is the part that prevents errors.

What we do

We get it out of people's heads and out of spreadsheets and make it explicit and machine readable: defined once, reused everywhere, instead of re-entered in every system. Matrix based dependency analysis, the Design Structure Matrix and its Domain Mapping and Multi Domain variants, is how we map it.

Decision

Where the value is actually realised.

What it is

Quoting, configuring, approving a change, releasing to production. The moments where the work happens and the money is made or lost.

Why it matters

Structuring data changes nothing on its own. Adding logic changes nothing on its own either. What they do is make the data worth more: clear relationships produce insight, and insight is what makes a decision better than a guess. The return on the two layers below only ever arrives here. So we make decisions fast, valid, repeatable and traceable, for people and for AI, with every answer traceable back to the data and the rule it came from.

What it costs when the layers are missing

A truck executive argued for a new, smaller engine and won the investment, on the understanding that it cost 10 percent less to make than the standard engine. With costs fairly allocated, it cost 20 percent more. The decision was confident, well argued and wrong, because the data underneath it was never structured to answer the question being asked.
